Another Baby!!

Have I told you why I've been kind of a bad blogging mommy lately?  There's a perfectly good reason that I have been a bit inconsistent and not my usual excited self to share lots of fun ideas with you!  And that reason is...we are having another baby!!  Unfortunately, I am not one of those lucky moms that gets a break from morning sickness the third time around.  Nope, I've had to endure it with each pregnancy...and I get it bad!  My friends have been amazing with helping me with my other two munchkins and my husband is the BEST as he has had to take over so much of the household stuff with cooking, grocery shopping, and even cleaning.  He is amazing, I love this man...

And I am just crossing my fingers that I am coming to the end of this nauseous and pukey stage.  I cannot wait to feel like myself again and jump into the second trimester with lots of joy and excitement.  So, I apologize for my bad blogging habits the last couple of months but there is a good reason...I've got a little "pumpkin" growing inside of me.  We can't wait to meet him or her in early October!!  Thanks for understanding!!

Everyone Needs a Comfy Chair...

So, when we bought our furntiure for our family room, we knew we needed something affordable, comfortable, and kid-friendly.  I opted to wait on my "dream set" of white linen from Pottery Barn.  That will come someday down the road....way down the road!  Instead we chose a set in a shade of brown that worked well with our overall plan and wasn't too dark and drab for the "sunny" rooms I like to create.  The wonderful thing was that the weekend we decided to do our shopping was also the weekend of all of the amazing Memorial Day sales last year.  So, we scored on getting a three piece set for much cheaper than we expected to even spend on one sofa!  They also threw in no sales tax!  Awesome!

The only problem is that I never really envisioned a sofa, loveseat, and oversized chair in our family room.  I really don't think it's a big enough room.  But we rearranged and made it work...and it did work...for a while.  Until the "rearranging bug" bit me again one morning, which is constantly happening!!  And I convinced my wonderful hubby to yet again move some furniture around.  He doesn't question anymore, just goes with it!  We dragged that big, comfy chair into our master bedroom and I went to town decorating and accessorizing.

The outcome...I think I love it!  First of all, my kiddos now have more floor space to wrestle, run, and play on in the family room.  They aren't trapped by furniture.  I also think it opens up the space and makes it appear biggier and sunnier...hee hee!  But the best reason of all is that I now have a cozy spot for ME!  I had no idea how much I would love having a corner in our bedroom to escape to for even five minutes to read a few pages from a book, enjoy some quiet time, sip on a mug of hot cocoa, or just put my feet up for a few minutes.  It's not in the middle of the family room anymore, so it feels much more peaceful and comfortable where it's at.  I love it!!  My conclusion is that everyone needs to have a spot in their house to get cozy, relax and maybe put their feet up for even five minutes!!  Now, go look around your house and make sure you have a spot just like that for you!

A Few Green Touches!

I love to decorate for the different seasons...adding fresh spring touches, sunny summer additions, warm fall flavor, and wintery whimsy!  But when it comes to individual holidays...I do not decorate my whole home for the celebration.  Sometimes our dinner table receives a tablecloth or centerpiece.  But the spot I have focused in on for holidays, is our entryway.  The kiddos love to see new holiday decorations there each month.  And I like friends and family to come in the door and see the festive touches!

So here is our entryway table with a few green touches.  Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Share a link or photo with some of your cute St. Patrick's day decor.  We'd love to see it and get some good ideas!

LUCKY to Be Your Friend!

I am telling you...I never used to think twice about celebrating St. Patrick's Day...except for enjoying some delicious corned beef and cabbage!  Yummy!  But now that I have kiddos, this is a holiday I do enjoy planning a few little activities with.  I came across this darling idea on eighteen25 and knew I was going to have to create this darling gifts for some friends and my son's preschool class!  Sorry if any of you are reading this post...and I am ruining the surprise!
With the morning sickness I am experiencing right now...candy and sweet treats just don't sound very yummy!  But cereal...cereal is something I feel like I could munch on any time of day.  So, these little baggies of "Lucky Charms" were right up my alley.  I love the cute toppers and tags!  Take advantage of the good sales on this cereal this week too.  It's a pretty affordable gift idea for your child's classroom!  Click on the eighteen 25 link for the cute topper to print out on cardstock paper.  And you just need to buy a box of cereal and some sandwich baggies.  Easy and cute!  Do you have any cute St. Patrick's Day gifts you are creating this week?  Please share!
