For some reason, my little guy began rising earlier and earlier in the moring for a little stretch of time. My kiddos have always been good, long, and wonderful sleepers and nappers. So, this got me a bit worried when I couldn't keep up with the rise and shine time! That's when I got smart and headed to the store to look for a digital clock for my little man. We had a big talk and a lesson on the number and color he was allowed to wake up on. A green seven was the time he could come down to our bedroom and tell us he was awake. Not before that!
The colors helped him to figure out what number he was paying attention to. The first morning I heard him stir around 6:30 but he must have checked his clock and realized it wasn't time to get up yet. Because he fell back asleep and headed down the stairs around 7:30! I heard this sweet little voice on the side of my bed say "It's a green seven mommy!" I was so happy and proud of him for staying in bed until the right time and I think the colors with the numbers helped him to learn that it was too early and he needed to sleep some more. The clock only cost me about $8 and getting some extra sleep each morning was well worth that purchase! Do you have any tricks you use to help your kiddos get the sleep they need?
Find something this week to paint! Maybe it's a piece of furniture that needs some refreshing or a wall that needs to "pop" a bit more. Remember that paint is cheap and easy...and it can transform a room! Drag something outside and get busy with a can of spray paint. You'll be amazed at how easy it is!
