The colors helped him to figure out what number he was paying attention to. The first morning I heard him stir around 6:30 but he must have checked his clock and realized it wasn't time to get up yet. Because he fell back asleep and headed down the stairs around 7:30! I heard this sweet little voice on the side of my bed say "It's a green seven mommy!" I was so happy and proud of him for staying in bed until the right time and I think the colors with the numbers helped him to learn that it was too early and he needed to sleep some more. The clock only cost me about $8 and getting some extra sleep each morning was well worth that purchase! Do you have any tricks you use to help your kiddos get the sleep they need?

ReplyDeleteJust found your blog and wanted to say hello. I think that clock is such a good idea! I have never seen one with the colors. I take care of lots of kids and I know their parents have had them look at the first number, but the colors is such a good idea!!
ReplyDeleteoh & p.s. I am having a giveaway.... http://ladybug-blessings.com/?p=373
What a fabulous idea! We don't have a coloured clock but even getting them to check the number at the beginning should work?
