Here are some creative ideas to make June a special month and create some fun "sweetheart moments!" Please try some of these activities out and leave a comment to let us know what you liked.
Summer Kick-Off
When school is done or you are just ready to start some fun summer activities, do a summer kick-off event. Pick a beautiful day and gather lots of fun (but cheap) summer goodies and head outside. Fill the day with sidewalk chalk, bubbles, sand toys, and more. A visit to the local dollarstore will help kick off the summer fun!
Friendship Fruit Salad
This is a fun way to gather a group of buddies and do a yummy summer activity. Have each child bring a baggie of fruit to the park or outing. Make sure you remember a large bowl, spoon, and plastic bowls & spoons to eat with! Sit in a circle and have each friend come up to the bowl and pour their fruit in and give it a stir. After each child has added their fruit...thank them for helping. Now tell them that you are adding the secret ingredient! Add a baggie of marshmallows for a delicious treat! Now enjoy the fruit salad made with friendship!
Father's Day Fun
Make dad feel special this month with his own special day. Start the day with a delicious breakfast, made with the help of your little chef helpers! A great gift idea for dad is this...take a photo of your little ones wearing sunglasses and looking cute. Now buy a frame and decorate with paint or foam shaped star stickers. Paste a label on it that says "Happy Father's Day to a COOL Dad!" He can keep this frame at work or at home and be reminded of the cool kiddos he has!
Pools & Picnics
I love to visit pools, parks, and water structures during the summer. Invest in a good waterproof picnic blanket and make sure to pack a picnic lunch. Enjoy eating outside and playing together!

Wild About Watermelons
Have a watermelon day where you enjoy a snack of some yummy and juicy watermelon. Before you eat your slice, have kids guess how many bites it will take them to eat the whole thing. Winner gets a small prize! And don't forget to do a watermelon seed spitting contest too!!
Bubbles Day
Bubbles are so much fun. And it is wonderful to have a whole day to play with bubbles. Visit the dollar store and buy one of every kind of bubble blower they have. It's lots of fun to try out different wands, scented bubbles, bubble blowers with batteries, and more! Try a game of bubble tag for fun. If the bubbles touch you, you are frozen! Have fun playing with bubbles!
Backyard Campout
Some of the best memories are doing silly things like camping in your own backyard. So, set up the tent, roast marshmallows in the fire pit, tell silly "ghost" stories, snuggle in the sleeping bags, and fall asleep watching the stars. Your kiddos will love the excitement of spending the whole night in the backyard with you. And if not, you don't have far to go to get to a nice comfortable bed again!
