So, this afternoon my kiddos went down for their nap and I made it my goal to get my curtain project done! You might think that sounds a bit ambitous and it might have been...but I did it! Within an hour, I had tranformed our family room windows! Here's the "before" picture above.
I am a bit cheap and I like to get projects done very quickly. So, off I flew to Walmart to browse their fabric aisles. Yes, I could have gone somewhere a bit more "chic" but I am working on a budget here! I found their Better Homes and Gardens line of fabric and became very happy with the floral/paisley design and a striped fabric that went perfectly! Remember...it's fun to mix and match fabrics. Don't be afraid to do that! All in all, I got a few yards of each of these fabrics, some tassles, and a package of glue sticks for my favorite glue gun!
Naptime came and I spread out my goodies all over the floor. I measured, I ironed, I glued, and I hung! Believe me that this was not a project that requires perfection. It is a fun project with some ironing of edges, gluing in spot, and adding some flair. Take a look at "my work in progress" above!

geez, you make that stuff look so easy. glue gun? i think i could maybe pull this one off! the curtains are adorable!!!
ReplyDeletevery nice indeed...and "the glue trick" is a great idea. where there's a will, there's a way, right?
ReplyDeleteThat is an AMAZING idea! I don't sew (my sewing machine broke 7 years agao and I've never had it fixed)but I could handle a glue gun! I love how they turned out too. Good job!
ReplyDeleteThey were so easy!! And I love how they turned out. Now I am already planning to do the curtains in our playroom and some tablecloths in our bedroom...all with my handy glue gun!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh...I LOVE those. I would have never thought that could be done with a glue gun. Did you cut the red curtain first? I may have to copy:) They are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove your curtains. :) They definitely do not look as if they were glue gunned on! I can sew a straight line, but lack the confidence to try stuff like this. Maybe I should just go for it. Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting on my blog. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is amazing! Love it! You are very crafty and talented. Happy Saturday Sharefest! :)
